About Us
Our research lab develops and uses smartphone-based ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and intervention (EMI) to study and promote human life at its best. EMA allows us to study life as it occurs, so we can measure intrasubject variability, causal relationships and situational influences in daily life. EMI provides a way of helping individuals become more self-aware and make positive changes in their daily routines.
Our lab has worked with a number of organizations. These have included Drug Courts, assisted living facilities, student development offices and churches. Our current projects include EMA/I studies on gratitude, compassion, and hope. These projects are part of a larger research agenda on virtues and situational influences.
